Cooking rice in a certain way removes over 50 percent of the naturally occurring arsenic in brown rice, and 74 percent in white rice, according to new research.

  1. Add fresh water (4 cups for every cup of raw rice) and boil
  2. Add rice and boil for another 5 minutes
  3. Discard the water with Arsenic
  4. Add fresh water (e.g. 2 cups for each cup of raw rice)
  5. Cook rice with low to medium heat with a lid on until water is absorbed
